Viewing Tools:

There are two viewing tools. They are the Zoom tool and Hand tool. The zoom tool helps in zooming into a picture. The hand tool helps to scroll over the zoomed in image. After zooming in, the image cannot fit into the screen fully. So hand tool may be used to move around the image.

Next we shall see about the eye dropper tool, color sampler tool, ruler tool and count tool. The eye dropper tool picks up the color at the particular point where you click on the picture and makes it the active color which can be used to paint. The color sampler tool places a reference on the screen where you click and gives all the details about the colors used in the info palette. 4 samples can be stored in the info palette at a time. The ruler tool is used to measure the dimensions and angles in a picture. When you draw a line, its distance is calculated and shown in the info window. To measure angles, first do a measured line. From one of its two end point, click and drag the cursor along with pressing the alt key towards the angle’s direction.

In my next tutorial, I will tell you about the tool shortcuts. They are most useful for using photoshop the easy way. Photoshop pros always use the tool shortcuts using keyboard. They avoid mouse to the maximum possible extent.
